Why Are We Switching to Eco-Friendly Water Coolers?

Our decision to switch to eco-friendly water coolers originates from a rising recognition of the need to decrease our carbon footprint and combat climate change. Traditional coolers frequently use refrigerants with high Global Warming Potential (GWP) values, which add to greenhouse gas emissions. By having environmentally friendly options, we hope to match our practices with our core values of sustainability and environmental responsibility. 

The Role of R600a Refrigerant

One of the key features of our new eco-friendly water coolers is the use of R600a refrigerant. R600a, commonly known as isobutane, is a hydrocarbon refrigerant with an incredibly low GWP of only 3. This means it has a lower impact on global warming than standard refrigerants. By adding R600a into our coolers, we reduce their environmental impact while retaining high cooling performance.

Transition Period and Availability 

We understand that the transition to eco-friendly water coolers is a slow gradual one. As we phase out of our older models, it may be some time before new coolers are across New Zealand. Please note this does not mean that you will get a water cooler replacement for your current cooler. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to bring these sustainable options to you.
